Hey guys! Welcome back to Top 10 Gaming, I’m Ron McKenzie-Lefurgey. Pretty much since the beginning of video games, stupid adults have been trying to stop kids from playing them. With some games, like the ones on our Most Disturbing Video Games list, sweet plug Ron (high five) it’s understandable. But other times, the reasons people give are just plain dumb. So I thought I’d talk about some of the most common reasons given, and discuss whether or not I think they’re true. So get ready,
It’s time for the Top 10 Reasons Kids Shouldn’t Play Video Games. Number 10: It makes kids violent! This one just pisses me off. I get that it seems like it would. And maybe it does increase aggression a smidge. But time and time again, studies find little or no correlation between video games and aggression in kids. So either show me a legit study, or stop yelling that video games make kids violence https://myegyptholidays.com/the-story-of-tsm-reginald-esports-trailblazer/. Because it’s getting old. Number 9: Video Games get in the way of schoolwork. I mean… yeah. Yeah they do. This one’s fair. Without video games my average would be like 10% higher. But to be fair, every extracurricular gets in the way of school. This one is just… highly addictive. Speaking of which… Number 8: They’re super addictive! Yeah, this one is definitely a legit reason. Again, I don’t think kids SHOULDN’T play video games, but some moderation is definitely good. Video games can be addictive to anyone, and young people are particularly at risk. And I speak from experience when I say that this addiction can cause people to spend wayyyy too much time playing video games. And this can make it tough to complete schoolwork in time, and often gets in the way of everyday life. So as much as kids will hate it, and believe me I hated it, parents definitely ought to set some ground rules to stave off the addiction. Number 7: It’ll rot your brains! We’ve all heard this one, whether they’re talking about watching TV or playing games. This often comes from people who have never actually played a game, and just assume games don’t involve any sort of mental activity. But as we know, they absolutely do. Well, except for Goat Simulator, with that I feel stupider every time I play. Research has actually found the opposite effect; a meta-analysis of 116 studies found that video gaming can increase sustained and selective attention, and improve visuospatial skills. It was even found to affect the structure of the brain; the right hippocampus was enlarged. So if your mom ever tells you to stop playing or your brains will rot, just go “hey, I gotta keep my right hippocampus swole, MOM!” Number 6: Anonymity online leads to poor socialization. This one has pros and cons. On the one hand, I totally agree that the anonymity young people have online isn’t good, because it leads to a whole whack of bullying and saying things they wouldn’t normally if they weren’t safely behind their computer. But this isn’t a video game problem, this is an internet problem. Little Billy isn’t being bullied on League of Legends… that’s on Facebook. That said, the whole FPS atmosphere of swearing every other word and yelling about other people’s mothers… yeah, not the healthiest. Number 5: It’s annoying letting kids win. If you have little siblings or family members, you’ll know the pain. The pain of playing smash bros, and watching them turn into a rock and jump off the edge for the 8th time. Trying to somehow maneuver yourself so they manage to accidentally hit you in their talentless smashing of the buttons. And it’s frickin annoying. You want a turn? YOU DON’T DESERVE A TURN! So yeah, bottom line for this point is: Ron is impatient and a bad cousin. Number 4: The sedentary lifestyle is harmful. This one… is kinda true. If you just play video games all day, you won’t get nearly enough exercise, unless it’s all motion capture games. Especially in young people, exercise is super important, and sitting all day isn’t good for developing bodies (or anyone really). The thing is, and you’ll get tired of hearing this by the end, but it’s all in moderation! This same argument could be used against reading, which is even LESS active! If you get out there and get the exercise you need, go ahead and chill out with some video games. Just don’t play them all day long. Or do, I dunno, I’m not your mom. Number 3: It gives kids unrealistic expectations about sex! Here’s another one that’s kinda true of some games. If you get all of your sex education from GTA and Leisure Suit Larry, of course you won’t be the most respectful person. Some people definitely do start to think that the way to win a girl is to do things for her, and if you do enough things for her she’ll like you. And this leads some to be disappointed, and you get the whole Men Going Their Own Way thing. But like… that’s what parents are for! Teach your kids the proper way, and they’ll learn it! Don’t blame games, just do your job as a parent! Number 2: There are better things to do. I mean… yeah, kinda. This is true of most things; you don’t yell at a novelist because he’d be better off trying to cure cancer. Not every moment needs to be lived to the absolute fullest. Sometimes you just want to chill. Plus, hell, video games teach a bunch of important skills anyway, from decision-making, to coordination… all sorts of things. So game on, brave gamer. Number 1: You could be out making friends! This is one that is a straight up generation gap. Older generations see video games as lonely, and don’t really appreciate the social aspect of them. You can make great friends online, some people even found their future spouses in video games! I had an argument with a guy who ended up teaching me how to roast a delicious chicken. Should you give up real life friends for online ones? Of course not. But that doesn’t mean playing online games will destroy your social life. That’s it for today! Hope you guys enjoyed, if you did please smack that thumbs up button and subscribe to Top 10 Gaming for more videos! Do you think kids should play video games, or should we just lock every kid up and make them do homework until they’re 18? Let me know in the comment section down below! Until next time, I’m Ron McKenzie-Lefurgey with Top 10 Gaming. Later gamers!

On the History Channel series Pawn Stars, the experts at the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas meet regular folks with unusual objects to sell—sometimes worthless, but often surprisingly valuable. Here are some of the biggest payouts in Pawn Stars history… Dutch East India Trading Company Bell The woman who brought this 17th century ship's bell into the shop was actually considering putting it out in a yard sale. Richard "Old Man" Harrison thought the bell had to be a reproduction. But the expert they brought in confirmed that it was indeed a shipwreck bell from 1602, and was worth a small fortune. "$15,000 give or take" 1715 Spanish Fleet Gold Coin In 1715, a Spanish fleet carrying millions of pesos worth of gold sank to the bottom of the ocean off the coast of Florida https://casinoslots-sa.co.za/spinit-casino.
Lucky customer Jody inherited an exceptional gold coin from this shipwreck. At first, Rick Harrison thought the coin was in too good of a condition to be genuine, but the expert confirmed that it was authentic and was worth a cool $18,000. "From everything I can see on this one, I'd say it's...absolutely genuine." Joe Greene's Olympic Medals Olympian Jumpin' Joe Greene came across hard times in the late '90s, so he sold the Harrisons his Olympic bronze medals from the 1992 and 1996 games. Rick reportedly assured him that despite their $30,000 value he would never sell the medals. But in this world, everything has a price. "I'm asking $20,000 for the Atlanta one, $10,000 for the Barcelona." Order Of The White Eagle Medallion A very lucky yard sale fanatic picked up this medal for only 75 cents and sold it to Rick for a cool $6,000. It turned out the medal dated back to the era of Tsarist occupation of Poland, and Rick eventually resold the medal for thirty-grand. Book Of Mormon Adam got more than he bargained for when expert Rebecca Romney appraised his 5th edition copy of the Book of Mormon from 1842. "I would appraise this book actually at about $40,000." Rick and Adam finally settled on a purchase price of $24,000, and both walked away happy with the transaction. 1554 Spanish Shipwreck Gold Bar When one man was cleaning out the belongings of his grandfather, he found a gold bar hidden away in a box. Its melt-down value alone was $24,000, but when an expert confirmed it was from a 1554 Spanish shipwreck, the price doubled instantly. "So you're telling me that's worth $48,000?" "In that neighborhood." "Yahaha!" 2001 Patriots Super Bowl Ring Patriots defensive back Brock Williams hit a hard patch and he decided to pawn his 2001 Patriots Super Bowl ring for a modest $2,600. He never came back for it, and the ring became the property of the shop. While similar rings have sold for around $30,000 on auction websites, Rick isn't ready to let go of his favorite item any time soon, which is why he's set the sale price on this beauty to a whopping $100,000. John F. Kennedy's Cigar Box The biggest payout ever on Pawn Stars is thanks to a piece of presidential history. A seller walked into the shop with a box of cigars that once sat on John F. Kennedy's desk in the Oval Office. After some haggling, Rick managed to purchase JFK's cigar box for $60,000. For comparison, a similar JFK humidor was purchased by the publisher of Cigar Aficionado in 1996 for $575,000. Thanks for watching! And leave us a comment to let us know what you think of these Pawn Stars deals… One of the strangest can be seen during the closing fight of Transformers: Age of Extinction, as star Mark Wahlberg runs to the aid of Optimus Prime, drawing fire from Megatron in the process. A brick wall takes the brunt of the villains attack - along with a completely unknown man suddenly appearing at Wahlberg's side. Whether a member of the crew or a cast member, his instant arrival is a total mystery. The Dark Knight Rises The final chapter of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy threw more than a few curveballs at fans, including Catwoman's shift from villain to heroine.
But when Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle first join forces for a rooftop fistfight, their skills prove too much for one background henchman who drops to the ground without being touched. It's clearly a case of stunt team members missing their mark, but its not the only one in the film. When Batman emerges to save Gotham from the brink in the films final act, yet another henchman decides that hitting the deck without reason is the best course of action. Batman Begins Extras can occasionally make their presence well-known, but doing too good a job can also lead to some problems. Take, for instance, one Gotham City police officer seen in Christopher Nolans Batman Begins. No fan will forget the first time Bruce Wayne took his Tumbler to the streets, but some might not have noticed one mindboggling mistake contained in the sequence. Moments before Batman sends the Tumbler jumping from the top of a parking structure, a police officer demands that he get out of his vehicle. Just a minute later, that same police officer is shown across town demanding a description of Batmans wheels. Apparently, he was just too good an actor to waste on ONE gag. Star Wars Every film buff knows that the release of Star Wars: A New Hope changed the world, not only for its box office success, but also for the clumsy stormtrooper slamming his head into a Death Star doorway that instantly became the stuff of legend. Rather than fixing the mistake, director George Lucas called out the gaff in later re-releases, adding a sound effect and line of dialogue. But it didn't stop there: the clumsiness was carried over to the prequel movie, Attack of the Clones, where Jango Fett - the man from whom the Clone Troopers were copied - was shown to be just as clumsy. As Lucas explained in the film's DVD commentary: "I thought, 'Wouldn't it be funny if that's a trait that Jango has?' When he puts his helmet on he can't really see that we'll, so he's constantly bumping his head - and that trait gets cloned into all the stormtroopers." Captain America: The Winter Soldier Superhero movie fans were shown that theres more to Steve Rogers than patriotism and old-fashioned values when he was put in charge of a S.H.I.E.L.D. strike team in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Although Cap was able to take down an entire ships worth of armed guards in one of the most memorable hand-to-hand combat sequences comic book films have ever produced his moves werent all perfect. When Steve first boards the S.H.I.E.L.D. vessel, he dispatches a number of guards with so much ferocity, hes able to knock out one henchman despite the foot or two between his fist and the goons face. Later, Cap can be seen switching sides of the ship in the middle of a combat roll. These mistakes can be forgiven, but in an otherwise flawless sequence, they show even movie magic has its limits. Conclusion So what do you think of our list? Did we miss any of your favorite movie mistakes? Let us know in our comment section and don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more videos like this one. Blockbuster films may be billion-dollar affairs these days, but no matter how big the action and spectacle may get, slip-ups are bound to happen. Studios do their best to keep those flaws from making the final cut, but luckily for movie buffs, some incredible mistakes still slip through the cracks. Here are ScreenRant's Biggest Movie Mistakes You Missed.
The Last Samurai The Last Samurais tale of 19th century Japan may rewrite several historical events and figures, but it's actually star Tom Cruise's horse who delivers the biggest on-screen gaff. As the film's hero arrives to muster his samurai before battle, his horse comes to a full stop before suddenly unleashing a crushing blow to a nearby extra. It seems the horse didnt care for the way it was handled, and chose to take its anger out on an unsuspecting samurai a decision every viewer can now appreciate with a laugh (or a shudder). Jurassic Park Its no secret that Jurassic Park has its fair share of mistakes, mostly continuity errors or props appearing onscreen. Then theres the magical T-Rex enclosure that a dinosaur can walk out of, despite the massive plunge shown later. But one would think that a film capable of bringing dinosaurs to life would also be able to set up an actual live camera feed for programmer Dennis Nedry before he double-crosses John Hammond. But when Nedry is speaking with his contact at the Isla Nublar docks, no attempt is made to conceal the fact that he and the viewer are watching a pre-recorded video, which would have ended not long after the shot. Quantum of Solace James Bond adventures are famous for their physics-defying action and over-the-top science, but Quantum of Solace showed it isn't just 007 who can turn reality on its head. As star Daniel Craig tracks his prey in the sun-baked harbor of Haiti, a background maintenance worker does his best to look casual - and fails miserably. Making sure not to fill the set with clouds of dust or sand is understandable, but how this floating broom pantomime made it into the finished film is anyones guess. Quantum of Solace An overzealous extra is one thing, but Quantum of Solace is also home to one baffling error placed center stage. During a high speed boat chase, James decides to cut power unexpectedly, causing the pursuing boat to slam up onto the back of his own. Without a weapon, James grabs a nearby grappling hook, and tosses it over into his enemies inflatable boat. The rope catches, and the bad guys are sent flying into the air, ending the chase. The problem is: the hook was never actually attached to anything theres no reason for the rope to be pulled out of the boat in the first place. Audiences are left to scratch their heads at what just took place, and what the filmmakers could have been thinking when they filmed it. Gladiator Ridley Scott's Gladiator pushed visual effects and swords-and-sandal drama into a whole new generation, but it wasn't without a few rough spots. Star Russell Crowe begins his journey from salve to revolutionary by uniting his fellow gladiators during a re-enactment of the Battle of Carthage, in which opposing chariots are beaten by spear and teamwork. Yet when a chariot loses a wheel and tips on its side, a curtain drops, revealing the entire gas canister rig used for the stunt. Its nearly impossible to miss, making it even more out of place in such an award-winning drama. Transformers: Age of Extinction Director Michael Bay may have his critics, but hes also responsible for the slick action now standard in every summer blockbuster - with the Transformers series being his most successful to date. But in the storm of giant alien robots fighting to destroy the Earth, some smaller mistakes have slipped through. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas was built in 1995 and expanded in 2010. I am a plein air painter, and doing so, over the years I have developed the knack of painting fast and furiously!
In this blog entry I want to share with you, A few paintings, studies, sketches; that I have never exhibited or shown to anyone – yet. They are quick studies – done in the fervor of a moment. They were all painted plein air and each has a story to tell. In Evergreen, where I live, there is a wonderful view of Mount Evans and the continental divide. I call it the Golden Willow view. I have spent many hours painting there on my own and with students, when teaching plein air classes. The great thing about Golden Willow is that to the west is the grand simple view of Mount Evans, and to the direct east, the other side of the road, is a wonderful red barn scene. Both views have Bear Creek meandering along with field grasses and mulberry shrubbery. As I was teaching a small class at Golden Willow, I set up my French box easel and painted along with the class, which I do regularly, as we learn by seeing the teacher do. The day was young and the sky brilliant blue. I had little time to work on my painting, as students needed attention. But the scene is so simple, just a few pieces of color, and I had the confidence and experience of the scene as I had painted it many time previously. This morning it came together very quickly and had a certain spark going on! Luckily for the painting, I got involved with the students work and didn’t have time to return to my painting so it remained simple, Quick and spot on. As the day progressed, clouds rapidly grew and built into a grey rainy afternoon. I changed views and this time faced east toward the red barn. Now my adrenaline was pumping even more, teaching for me is an active sport of sorts – I respond to the students work as they respond to the ever-changing scene before them – it can be quite exciting, and I put this rush in my painting of the barn. In a few moments the painting appeared! My strokes were clean and crisp and every one of them worked! Quickly the weather was changing and drops of rain and wind encouraged the process. I was impressed with the quickness and felt good to preserve this seemingly effortless study. Both paintings measure 20 x 24, and were painted in a 30 minute time frame! Wow! I came home with two field studies that day in November and felt that I had captured the area in a way that I hadn’t done before. Some of the canvas in both paintings remains uncovered – causing a wonderful vibration of texture, color and temperature. With this said, the question arises “Are these two works, done so quickly, viable paintings?” I look forward to answering that question in my next post. Let me continue… I found myself painting in Jackson Hole, Wyoming – home of the Tetons. I had painted all day long, from sunup to sundown, I was exhausted! As I was packing up and heading home, the sky, which had been moody and grey, opened up with color I had not seen before. I just can’t paint any more I told myself. The color grew and I was just stunned by it – so I pulled the car over and yanked the French box out, along with three small 16 x 20 cardboard panels and in a few minutes was painting – like a madman! In seconds, the sky grew and grew with color! I was alongside a road and other drivers were swerving off to experience the drama going on. In just a few moments I had the small canvas covered with simple spots of color, then the scene grew and changed, and I changed canvases – throwing one on the ground and painting the one underneath on my easel. It happened again, in 10 minutes the canvas was covered with color, a few quick accents and fini! And then, the sky drama entered into another phase of intensity! I threw the second 16 x 20 off the easel and began another. In my mind I was wondering if anyone would believe this? My body ached and my mind swam with paint and color. Then it was over as quickly as it had begun. In a matter of moments, the sky, mountains, and ground, created a powerful memory what a display. I had three 15 minute quick studies, each rich and vital, filled with spontaneous color, passion. I hadn’t even had a chance to take a picture with my camera – who would believe this! Now seasons later, I look at these quick studies of the Tetons and their grandeur – and am impressed that I was there and had the nerve to give it a try! A color memory that was real and still lasts. The question again, “but they are so crude and unfinished? Do they work? Are they paintings? Or just a study…a sketch done in haste? An easy question yes, but the answer is somewhat elusive. Another experience to share next week as we find that answer… Masters in adult education degrees give you the highest possible credentials for being able to impart your knowledge to other people. You will also be able to become involved in the administration of learning centers, and the setting up programs which will allow people to achieve far more in their careers. It is never easy to achieve a master's degree, but it certainly possible through either traditional campus study, or the new online learning programs which make it possible to study while you still earn from your present career.
The first essential for being a good teacher is that you have a profound knowledge of your chosen subject. It is possible for relief teachers and those who stand in for others to be effective with only a slight knowledge of the subject, but a teacher will overall responsibility for a class will need to be fully qualified in the subject they are teaching. If you don't have any recognized achievements or for a education in your subject, this will need to be put right before you can progress to higher levels of teaching. You can always be studying teaching techniques at the same time as learning your subject. If you want to study for a degree in education, you will be the right type of person to be able to teach a subject to other people. This is a skill which can be learned, although it will come naturally to some people with a special affinity for it. There is often confusion as to who makes a good teacher or coach, with many people believing that you have to be an exceptional practitioner of a technique before you can teach it. This is not true, and many of the most gifted people actually make poor teachers because they are unable to relate to the difficulties which those of lesser ability experience. A masters in adult education will give you the skills you need to be able to impart information to students in an effective way. You will be able to teach people at any level from school up to university degree standard, but teaching adult learners is often one of the most satisfying aspects of teaching. You will be helping people to develop skills which they can take into the marketplace to make better lives for themselves. Many of these people will be from the long term unemployed, and will have come onto your programs through initiatives of the government to get the unemployed back to work. Effective educators can come from a background in the subject they are teaching, or just from a general background in education. In the past, it would be extremely difficult for anyone to move from a career in industry or commerce to teaching without a break to attend a college campus, but now it is possible to achieve the same standard of education through online learning. This means that you can study part time without any need to interrupt your present career, and you can also plan your studies around your own schedule. There are some barriers to entry for courses leading to a masters in adult education, and there is never any guarantee of acceptance. You will need to have the basic high school diploma, and then some further education in a related subject before you can study for a master's degree. This should not be a problem if you have the aptitude needed to succeed, and the time to study. For many modern students who study through online learning, it is time management which is the most difficult barrier to overcome in gaining a masters in adult education. We gathered all the famous or/and best (but not always famous) experts who deliver to the quality of education through their blogging. Obviously, there are many more authoritative sources that are worth mentioning on Essay Help Courses. Send us a clue, if you know some! Finance degree qualifications can aid you in achieving everything from an entrance level job with a financial institution or company to a position within a college or business school, dependant upon the kind of degree you are studying. There are some qualifications which take only two years to complete, and these can be enough to permit your entry into a financial institution. For those with further ambitions, a doctorate is the next step, taking around 5 years of hard study. This will however allow you to operate at the highest levels in the financial industry.
Finance degree studies Can help you to achieve anything from an entry level job with a bank or corporation to a faculty at a college or business school, depending on the type of degree which you are working for. There are some associate's degrees which take only two years to earn, and these will be enough to secure your entry into a financial profession. For those with more grandiose ambitions, a doctorate will take around five years of intense study, and will allow you to work at the highest levels of financial education. It is important to have your objectives clearly quantified at the start of your quest. If your goal is to work in mainstream finance, a bachelor's degree will be a good choice. It can be completed in around four years, and gives you more options than an associate's degree. This is an ideal choice for someone who already has a source of income, and who is in no desperate hurry to achieve a move into finance. Those who are not in this position will need to consider the associates degree just to get started, as it will be less expensive in terms of both time and money. Degrees online The career options which are available to the holders of various degrees should be the determining factor in what you are trying to achieve. You can work as a credit or financial analyst in the employ of a small or large company with anything from an associate's degree upwards, and you can also work as a financial manager. This role will usually require some prior experience in a financial position. It is also possible to become licensed to work as an independent contractor giving financial advice to individuals or those forming companies. Specialized financial knowledge is constantly in demand in many different situations. A finance degree can be gained either through attending a college campus, or through online study. A campus program will give you the traditional advantages of being able to socialize directly with other students, and of being able to converse face to face with the tutors, but it will demand a significant commitment of time and money. Few students will be in a position to commit to a course without taking out student loans, which can be a major source of difficulty in the years to follow. You will also be unable to work to sustain yourself if you commit to residential study. Online Degree The financial implications of the online study programs are less severe, although there will still be a high financial outlay. The course will need to be paid for, but at least you can continue to work while it is taking place. There is also an advantage in flexibility, although this needs to be taken in context and not allowed to get out of hand. Being able to manage your own time, and being a self-starter even when things are not going well is essential if you are going to succeed with a learning course over a period of several years. The material in a finance degree course is all academic in nature, making it ideal for study in your own home. As long as you can set aside a quiet area in which to study, there is no reason why this should not be the perfect learning environment. You will need to make sure that any other members of the family who are living with you will respect your need for quiet study time on a regular basis. It is best if you can study for a few hours at a time, as this will give you the depth of concentration needed for a finance degree. |
